The Building Cadet role
A SHAPE Building Cadet is a
learning role supporting the project delivery teams during
pre-construction, onsite throughout construction and
post-construction to ensure client satisfaction.
We understand our cadets will be studying and will be expecting
to work part-time. So we work with you to create a flexible working
plan and accommodate university timetables and holidays. The role
will see you be responsible for assisting with:
- Estimating, tendering and bid submissions
- Document control
- Reviewing subcontracts
- Processing invoices
- Minuting subcontractor and client meetings
- Coordinating safety requirements on site
- Coordinating defect rectification
- Providing general admin support
THE shape cadet development program
Being a SHAPE Cadet gives you hands-on experience with real
responsibilities and a tailored learning plan to gain exposure to
skills that you can’t always learn in a text book. The program
kicks off with the SHAPE Induction Week to learn about SHAPE, your
role, cover some basic training and introduce the SHAPE Passbook.
It's a great opportunity to meet the other Building Cadets as well
as network with our leadership team.
