01 March 2012

Every year visitors flock to Adelaide to experience the Adelaide Fringe, an open access arts festival that runs for one month over February and March. This year  Andrew Hill, Jo Savidge and Brad Gaspari from the Adelaide SHAPE team became involved in the festival to build the Fringe Festival Box Office, giving a little something back to the community.

SHAPE joined Hassell Architects and The Fringe after an Architect from Hassell, with his ‘Packing Crate’ inspired design, won the competition to design the festive ticket box office be located in the Adelaide's city stripe, Rundle Mall.

Building the box office started on the 6th February and was finished on the 8th and then transported it to the parklands the following day. The busking pitch, the box seats, the electrical work and the internal fittings to the ticket office were completed onsite and ticket sales to commenced on the 18th of February.

A huge thank you to our subcontractors who helped the team with the build - Deadshort, Q Carpentry, Northern Crates and Keith Timber.
