University of Queensland, Social Sciences Building

Silence for staff and students

Working in universities requires a contractor with an ability to operate in a live environment. Focusing on the surrounding tenancies and the needs to maintain their operational continuity ensured a successful result for the University of Queensland during the refurbishment to their Social Sciences Building.

The refurbishment took place over three levels and was required to enhance the university’s facilities. The university required project completion prior to the start of the new semester to avoid disruption to students and staff. SHAPE met this key deadline and also ensured that the surrounding floors were not disturbed during the construction period.
