University of Sydney, Holme Building

A revitalised space that feels like Holme

The University of Sydney required the demolition of the Academic Dress Hire and Memorabilia Store within the Holme Building, with the replacement of a new cafe, bar and restaurant and an external courtyard. SHAPE  was engaged to complete the fitout and also complete heritage preservation works to the building’s services including electrical, mechanical and AV. The Holme Building has provided an important community space for over 100 years and with SHAPE’s help to reinvigorate the spaces, it will continue to provide students and staff with a new social hub. The new fresh fitout also doubles as a modern function space within a historical context for university events and other functions with state-of-the-art audio visual technology.
