Canberra Hospital PC3 laboratory

Laboratory upgrade encourages active research

With existing PC2 and PC3 laboratories already in place, the Canberra Hospital wanted to expand to include a larger PC3 laboratory. The project involved the demolition of the old PC3 laboratory and the construction of a new PC3 laboratory all within an existing PC2 laboratory.

This situation required SHAPE to be very careful about potential contamination of specimens within the PC2 laboratory. To achieve success, SHAPE used various hygiene procedures, frequent communication and dust proof hoardings, as well as a separate entrance to the site.
