A seamless transition for major health project
The South Australian Government was planning a new $130 million
mental health facility at Glenside Hospital. Before construction
could begin, transitional works needed to be carried out on
existing buildings where clinical services would be relocated. The
result for the client was 5000 square metres of clinical space and
consultation rooms delivered on time.
A secure site
To make sure patient security wasn’t compromised during the
refurbishment, SHAPE carried out regular security
checks and erected temporary fencing and lockable spring-loaded
gates. As managing contractor, SHAPE engaged
suppliers and subcontractors as cost-effectively as possible, and
worked with the architect to source cheaper materials. Thanks to
SHAPE’s cost-saving techniques, the client saved
$600,000 on the original estimate for the project.
Testimonial
