Department for Correctional Services

Award winning success delivered for Correctional Services

The Department for Correctional Services (DCS) relocated to a new Green Star facility at 400 King William Street, bringing their accommodation in line with South Australia’s Government Accommodation standards. This improved their access to natural light, provided high quality staff breakout facilities and enabled improved interaction and communication amongst staff.

The fitout consisted of dynamic open plan zones with fresh, bright finishes and graphics. The finishes and services were designed to comply with a 5 Green Star rating, providing staff with superior air and light quality, surrounded by a large number of plants.

SHAPE had to comply with South Australia Government Accommodation standard, as well as the department’s tight programme, need for a quality fitout, and request for staff inclusion and buy-in.

Strong relationships with the client and constant communication ensured that SHAPE were able to deliver this project successfully.

This project was awarded a Commendation at the 2011 South Australian Master Builders Association Building Excellence Award for Excellence in a Commercial Fitout.
